WHY NOT RENT TO THE PUBLIC?
Our sites were created to provide the ultimate paddlesports purchasing experience and to best support our paddlesports courses & clinics. We must continue to focus on those aspirations!
WHAT ARE OUR CAMPSITES LIKE?
Our campsites mirror Frontenac Provincial Park’s interior campsites.
I.E. Wooded and waterfront sites with sand based tent pads, a picnic table, fire pit and outhouses. Most sites are car accessible with others a 1-minute walk to the furthest site. “Wooded” sites means camping under a canopy of oak, maple and beach trees or white pine and hemlock trees by our lake.
We do NOT offer showers, nor do we have electrical hook ups for motor homes & RV’s.
SPECIFIC CAMPSITE DETAILS:
Site #1: Drive to (tent pad: 11′ x 12′) Big site, connected to site # 2 for large groups (up to 8 people)
Site #2: Drive to (tent pad 12′ x 12′) Connected to site #1 for large groups (up to 8 people)
Site #3: Drive to (tent pad 12′ x 12′) an easy access site, perfect for late arrivals.
Site #4: Drive to (tent pad 12′ x 12′) A Nice hillside site for him & her, large & offers great privacy
WHAT ABOUT FISHING?
Pearkes Lake, sometimes called Elbow Lake offers anglers Northern Pike, Large & Small mouth Bass, Crappy. Its maximum depth of 70 ft. is too shallow to support Lake & Speckled Trout found in many neighbouring lakes
DO YOU SUPPLY FIREWOOD?
Firewood and/or brush piles are readily available near each campsite for burning at “NO Charge”. We suggest that you bring a splitting axe, hatchet and/or a saw along with dry fire starter materials. Upon request dry firewood bundles are available @ $6.00 ea
WHAT ABOUT FIRE BANS?
County fire bans (not Provincial Park) must be adhered to at all times. Failure to do so can result in significant fines to BOTH the camper AND the landowner. Propane stoves are always allowed during fire bans. Campers must always keep their fires under control and fires must be completely extinguished prior to departing.
WHAT ABOUT DRINKING WATER?
Lake water should be boiled for 10-minutes. Well water is available at the Paddling Centre during business hours, although some campers choose to simply bring drinking water.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Pets are allowed with “common sense criteria” being followed (i.e. Is your pet friendly with other people, especially children? What about other animals? Will you scoop their poop)? Common sense means you must be responsible for your pet at all times. Please mention your pet to us when you reserve your campsite.
WHAT ABOUT ARRIVING LATE?
Arriving late with a campsite reservation… no worries! Simply let us know in advance and we will provide you with specific instructions for self serve arrival!
WHAT ABOUT MY GARBAGE?
Similar to sites within Frontenac Provincial Park, campers are completely responsible for packing out ‘ALL’ your garbage and taking it home with you… PLEASE leave our campsites clean!
DAMAGES?
Campers are responsible for all their own actions and safety this includes product, property damages and personal safety & liability
HOW CLOSE IS FRONTENAC PROVINCIAL PARK?
It’s a 1.5-km (1 minute) drive to Frontenac Park’s Trail Centre. It is an additional 4-km drive to the Parks most popular launch at Big Salmon Lake.
CAN I RENT YOUR CANOES OR KAYAKS?
Yes, NEW, quality Kayak & Canoe Rentals are available at our Paddling Centre. Reservations are highly recommended Fridays through Mondays & during long weekends.
CAN WE PORTAGE INTO FRONTENAC PARK FROM YOUR LOCATION?
Yes, there is a “private” 163-metre portage from Pearkes Lake to South Otter Lake in Frontenac Park for those who will respectfully use this private portage.
